MLK Search is supporting this Outstanding Specialist ASD School in appointing a Therapy Assistant to work across the school and alongside our multi-professional therapy team; mainly with Speech & Language and Occupational Therapy.
You will be integral to the delivery of daily programmes and supporting the work of the Speech and Language or Occupational Therapy teams, in addition to promoting school improvement projects around communication and pupil voice.
You will be able to develop your main practice whilst also developing a knowledge of other disciplines (Speech & Language, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Creative Therapies, Sensory Impairment). This will enable you to seemingly integrate your daily work alongside other professionals, as well as maximise the impact of your own work by ensuring pupils are positioned correctly, ready to engage and able to best focus with the resources you use.
The school has two provisions supporting Primary and Secondary aged students between 5 and 16, most of whom have EHCPs for specialist language or communication needs.
It is an ideal opportunity for creative and diligent person who can engage and build rapport with children with Autism quickly. You will show an ability to reflect carefully on the support you give others, how this can be most effective for learners with SEND and understand why this might be.
