As a Clinical Author you will research, write, edit, and review medical information, including ongoing clinical education, internal team updates, and patient education materials for the purposes of the claimant and Health Professionals (HP) in line with the DWP Functional Assessment Service (FAS)
Your main responsibilities:
• Researching and reviewing medical literature to ensure that the organisation’s content is up-to-date, accurate, and credible.
• Creating and editing scientific or medical content that is clear, easy to understand and adheres to regulatory and ethical guidelines.
• Collaborating with HPs, DWP, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the initial training guidelines and continuous professional development courses are relevant and accurate to FAS.
• Ensuring that the content is written in a way that meets the needs of the audience and is accessible to people with disabilities.
• Staying up to date with the latest clinical and medical research and developments by reviewing DWP updates, NICE and SIGN guidelines.
• Collaborating with other FAS providers, DWP, and other professionals to create and distribute content.
• Adapting content to changes in benefit Legislation or government reviews.
What you’ll need to do the role:
• Minimum 12 month’s post-graduate experience working as a Health Care Professional (nurse, doctor, paramedic, OT or PT)
• GMC/ HCPC / NMC registered with no restrictions to practise & a proven record of relevant Continual Professional Development (CPD) and revalidation
• Minimum 12 months operational experience as a DWP approved Assessor, with working knowledge of DWP benefits such as PIP and WCA.
• Experience in Clinical Authorship or Clinical Training
• Strong Strong background in medical writing, along with knowledge of medical terminology, research methodologies, and regulatory guidelines.
• Proven experience researching and analysing medical information from a variety of sources, including peer-reviewed journals, medical textbooks, and online databases.
• Proven experience communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and the general public.
• A keen eye for detail and accuracy
