About You

The successful candidate will have:
Strong communication and active listening skills
Proven ability to build positive relationships and empower individuals
Ability to manage records accurately and maintain professional documentation
Passionate about supporting individuals to achieve their health and fitness goals
Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team
Empathy and the ability to maintain professional boundaries
Level 2 Fitness Qualification (essential)
Level 3 Fitness Qualification or working towards it is highly advantageous.
Experience in delivering gym floor programs and group classes
Emergency First Aid
Level 3 Exercise Referral Qualification (desirable)
Experience in delivering personalised fitness plans and assessments (desirable)
Health coaching qualifications or relevant psychological approach training (desirable)

About the Role
As a Physical Activity Specialist / Gym Instructor, you'll be at the heart of delivering a premium customer experience. Your role will include delivering gym-based and group exercise services, providing health assessments, and offering expert health and fitness advice. You'll play a key role in supporting individuals to maintain long-lasting, active lifestyles, guiding them through behaviour changes to achieve their fitness goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean and safe gym environment, ensuring equipment is in working order and hygiene standards are met.
Provide motivational guidance, conducting assessments to help clients identify and address health and fitness barriers.
Lead group exercise classes and 1-1 physical activity sessions, including Exercise on Referral.
Use health coaching techniques to inspire clients and empower them to make positive lifestyle changes.
Record client progress, completing assessments and evaluations in accordance with best practices.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver tailored support and achieve positive outcomes for clients.
Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain a high standard of service delivery.
