Join our team as a Housing Compliance Inspection Officer, where your expertise will play a vital role in protecting tenants and landlords alike What You'll Do: As a Housing Compliance Inspection Officer, you'll be responsible for: Conducting inspections of private sector housing to issue property licences under various licencing schemes, including Mandatory Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) and Selective Licences. Creating schedules of works for properties that require improvements, ensuring they meet safety and health standards. Collaborating with enforcement officers to monitor compliance with housing laws. Investigating properties suspected of operating without the correct licences, issuing penalties when necessary. Preparing detailed reports and evidence for court, public hearings, and tribunals as required. Your Skills & Experience: To excel in this role, you should possess: Experience dealing with large numbers of inspections/license applications Experience in identifying property defects and proposing solutions using clear, professional communication. A certification in Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) is preferred A solid understanding of property licencing and the Housing Act 2004. Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines while managing your own caseload and priorities.
