Job Description
We have a current opportunity for a Planning Manager on a permanent basis. I am looking for an experienced Project Controls and Planning Manager to join our Rail team to work on the Sizewell C Project. This will be on the Rail side of this huge Nuclear Project.
The client I am representing is looking for an skilled Planning Manager who has experience on large scale Rail and Civils Projects, specifically Track and Lineside Civils.
The aim of the project will be to construct and build the train line into the Sizewell C project to ensure safe and effective transportation of materials to the Sizewell C Project.
The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced Senior Planner or Planning Manager, who has worked on similar sort of projects, and for Tier 1 Rail and Engineering clients.
For this position, the main office base will be in Canary Wharf, whereby the Planning Manager will be expected to attend on a hybrid working basis, with the occasional travel to Suffolk for client update meetings etc.
Some day to day duties (but not limited to) -
1. Develop and implement standard project scheduling processes and procedures ensuring alignment with project objectives and deadlines.
2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create realistic and achievable project plans.
3. Monitor and analyse project expenditures, ensuring adherence to budget constraints.
4. Identify and communicate cost trends, potential risks, and opportunities for cost savings.
5. Establish and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework for projects.
6. Facilitate risk management procedures and processes to regularly update risk registers and communicate risk status to relevant stakeholders.
Essentials for this role -
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
2. Previous experience as a Project Controls Manager in a major multi-discipline engineering environment.
3. Understanding of NEC3 contracts.
4. Analytical mindset and proficiency in data analysis tools and attention to detail.
5. Ability to lead, train and mentor people at all levels.
Salary - up to £80,000
