We have a vacancy for a full-time Trainer to join our Human Resources and Learning and Development team based in our Colchester office. This is an exciting time to join the team as we prepare for updating our key systems, and this role will help to deliver the training programme for each team. In addition, the role will involve delivering induction training for new employees and equipping our colleagues with the knowledge and skills to succeed at Birkett Long through our academy.
The successful candidate will be required to travel to our other offices regularly to carry out induction training and deliver training sessions.
The Department
The Human Resource and Learning and Development team works in partnership with the Firm to enhance the growth of the business whilst building a respectful, collaborative, safe, and healthy culture. The Role
You will join the Human Resource and Learning and Development team in the Colchester office. The position is full-time and, subject to work commitments, there will be the opportunity for some working from home, if desired, in line with the Firm’s working from home guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
You will support the Learning and Development Manager in delivering a broad range of training, development, and learning opportunities for our employees.
Main responsibilities will include:
Training Development & Delivery
1. Develop and present blended learning training content related to projects through a mixture of e-learning, face-to-face or online training.
2. Create user-friendly training materials, guides, and resources.
3. Work with the L&D Manager to identify training and development needs.
4. Design training programmes based on individual and organisational needs.
Induction Training
1. Deliver tailored induction programs to induct all new employees to include an introduction to our firm’s policies, systems, and internal processes.
2. Support, deliver, and evaluate induction training as well as new and existing software programmes for all members of staff.
Project Support
1. Work with the L&D Manager and IT Team to ensure projects are supported from a Training point of view.
2. Conduct training sessions for various departments, ensuring all employees understand and can effectively use the Firm's systems.
3. Work closely with key stakeholders (IT, HR, Partners, BLHR, Team Leaders) to provide both internal or external training services where required.
4. Act as a point of contact for employees’ queries regarding training.
Administrative Duties
1. Undertake training analysis.
2. Maintain project and training documentation, participant progress, and programme outcomes.
3. Book external training courses on behalf of the firm.
The Candidate
You will have previous experience in a Software or Generalist Trainer role with an excellent track record and experience in organising, planning, and delivering training programmes. You will have experience of training IT systems and using online cloud-based document storage solutions.
You will have exceptional communication skills and experience in developing and delivering training courses for different learning needs. You will have the confidence to design and deliver both soft skill and IT training to a range of group sizes and possess the skill to multitask and problem solve.
You will be analytical, have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes in line with learning outcomes. You will have experience of designing videos or e-learning content.
