The Councilandrsquo;s People Team are looking for a qualified [or soon to be qualified] lawyer. The posts will involve a varied caseload of Childrenandrsquo;s Services cases, with some Court of Protection work involving 16-18 year olds and Education matters. We welcome applications from Lawyers who may not be qualified at this time but who will be nearing qualification by April 2025.
You will provide legal advice, support and where appropriate advocacy in all matters relating to child care law including pre-proceedings, adoption and deprivation of liberty for young persons. This will include representing the Council at court and other tribunals as required.

The successful candidate will be fully conversant with the legislation, regulations and procedures in respect of public law child care, deprivation of liberty proceedings and Education matters and be able to demonstrate effective case management.
