Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust (MTW) is a large acute hospital trust in the south-east of England. We provide a full range of general hospital services and some aspects of specialist and complex care to around 600,000 people living in West Kent and East Sussex. We have a team of over 8,000 full and part-time staff. We also provide specialist cancer services to around 2 million people across Kent and East Sussex via the Kent Oncology Centre. Our Tunbridge Wells site in Pembury is the first NHS hospital in England to provide en-suite, single rooms for all inpatients, and is seen nationally as an example of best practice of patient-safe facilities. Maidstone Hospital is the base for the Kent Oncology Centre, one of the largest providers of specialist cancer services in the country and has the latest diagnostic facilities
We are proud to be recognised nationally as one of the best performing hospital trusts in the country. We are one of the few trusts in England to have no long waiting patients (reduced from almost 1,000 to zero in less than a year), are regularly in the top five for ED performance and have delivered the 62-day cancer standard every month for five years and we are now delivering all three updated standards, ie the Faster Diagnosis Standard, 31 day and 62 day standards.
Our vision, exceptional people, outstanding care, builds on our achievements so far. It connects everything and accelerates how we do things.
