Matron - Trauma and Orthopaedics/Private Health

We are offering an exciting opportunity to work within the Trauma and Orthopaedics Directorate. Working alongside the Senior Matron and the Trauma and Orthopaedic Team, you will need to develop a close working relationship with staff, consultants, departments, directorates, and trust managers across the multidisciplinary team. We are seeking an experienced healthcare professional to lead and develop the service and workforce to drive forward initiatives to enhance standards and transform practice. There will be a requirement to work across all UHD sites.
This role requires an NMC Registration
Base Location: Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital

Main duties of the job
To provide clinical and professional leadership to assigned clinical wards and departments and specialist nursing/midwifery teams ensuring that action is taken at all levels to empower nurses/midwives/AHPs to provide high standards of care in a safe environment.
The right candidate will be given opportunities to lead on areas such as:

* Ensuring patient experience is of the highest quality
* Promoting best practice in the prevention of infection

Person Specification
Qualifications
* 1st Level Registered Nurse/Midwife/AHP on relevant part of the Register
* First degree or equivalent.
Experience
* Proven track record of operational management in the acute healthcare setting managing a ward/service/department, including staff, financial/budgetary, and change management.
* Experience in the acute healthcare setting in clinical leadership/clinical management position.
Knowledge
* Extensive knowledge of National and Local NHS care and N&M agenda.
* Highly developed specialist knowledge for field of practice, underpinned by theory and experience.
