About the role
As the Strategic Finance Manager, you will act as a Business Partner to key stakeholders at the Council. You will deliver accurate budget monitoring data, maintain the accuracy of the ledger, and produce monthly financial reports for managers, directors, S151 officer, and portfolio holders. Supported by a team of Business Partners, your advice will support key decisions made by decision makers, relying on your financial reporting.
Working with your Finance colleagues, you will ensure financial controls and procedures are in place for preparing the client council's annual statement of accounts and accurate financial reports. Your role provides cost accounting support across the services of the Council to enhance their understanding of financial positions and strategic decision-making.
What we are looking for
This opportunity is ideal for a CIPFA, CIMA, or ACCA qualified accountant looking to advance from a role responsible for delivering financial information to heads of service. This role will elevate your finance career as you develop your people leadership skills through the line management of a finance team of 5.
If you are currently in a Finance Business Partner, Finance Analyst, or Finance Manager role that allows you to influence budget holders within a local authority but offers no further development, this is a fantastic opportunity to step toward a 'Head of' role.
