Job Title: Site Manager
Location: Uckfield (On Site)
Salary: Up to £70,000 plus package
Future Build Recruitment is working with a well-established residential developer known for delivering exceptional residential projects across the South East. They are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a key project in Uckfield. In this role, you will lead and motivate the site team to meet strict health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring quality and programme requirements are consistently achieved. You’ll also play an active role in promoting strong customer relationships with both directly employed and subcontracted staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
* Work with the Project and Area Build Managers to develop, monitor, and revise the master build programme, maintaining budget alignment.
* Oversee and ensure construction methods meet project timelines and take corrective action to maintain progress.
* Determine equipment, plant, staffing, and subcontract needs for the site.
* Address and resolve queries from trades.
* Manage recruitment, onboarding, and development of new employees in line with best practices.
* Conduct mid-year and annual appraisals with staff, coordinating with HR for developmental support as needed.
* Monitor and enhance the performance of direct reports.
Requirements:
* CSCS card at Site Manager level
* SMSTS certificate
* Full UK Driving License
* BTEC diploma in Building Construction, NVQ Level 3/4, or equivalent
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Site Manager
* Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in site management
* Knowledgeable in health, safety, and building legislation
* Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
Desirable:
* NHBC PIJ-winning team experience
* Strong NHBC record, particularly with CQRs and defect prevention
* Exceptional health and safety record
* Effective in building positive relations with sales and build teams
* Residential housebuilding experience
