Job summary We are looking to appoint 3 Cellular Pathology Consultants to join our friendly, well-established team. Applicants should have completed Specialist Training and be entered on the Specialist Register of the GMC, or have a CCT or equivalent date in Histopathology within 6 months of the date of interview. All reporting specialties will be considered however we are looking for candidates who have a keen interest in, Lung, Hematopathology, Urology, Gynae and Dermatopathology Main duties of the job The BCPS Cellular Pathology service is a fully consolidated service with the hub laboratory at Wolverhampton and Essential Service Laboratories (ESL) at the other sites. The only cellular pathology service provided at the ESLs is a frozen section facility. The combined surgical pathology workload for BCPS is anticipated to be approximately 92,000 surgical pathology requests per annum. The successful candidate will be based at the hub laboratory at the New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton, but will be responsible for all relevant cellular pathology material for the whole BCPS (from all 4 trusts). About us The Black Country Pathology Service (BCPS) has been formed by four Trusts looking to collaborate to optimise the use of resources.
