About The Role Morrison Energy Services is recruiting for a Site Engineer to work on our Electrical Transmission contract on various projectsacrossthe UK. The Site Engineer is primarily responsible for the technical aspects of sections of projects of all types and sizes; resident on the projects and responsible for co-ordinating the resources allocated to them, to ensure that the designated sections of work are delivered in a safe and timely manner. As the Site Engineer your responsibilities will include: Adequate reporting of Safety incidents and near misses both internally and externally as required to the Client. Planning, day-to-day coordination and management of Foremen and Line workers. Planning, day-to-day coordination and management of sub-contractors. Regular liaison with Clients site representatives and attendance at any Client and project meetings as required. To control costs and be aware of the financial status of the project. Production of Method Statements, Work Instructions and Risk Assessments as required by Safety Regulations and/or Client. Provide the Project Manager with all information required to produce Contract Status Reports (or other reports required by Client). To provide well-documented information to support the Project Manager in submitting any project claims. Plan and coordinate required resources (labour, plant & materials) to carry out required projects. To determine material requirements and liaise with Procurement in a timely manner to ensure all materials are available to complete the project requirements. In accordance with our certification to the standards OHSAS 18001, ISO9001 and ISO 14001 each employee will comply with and contribute to the effective implementation of the current Morrison Energy Services policies. Responsibility for day-to-day Health and Safety matters of staff and sub-contractors working under your control on projects. Skills & Knowledge Requirements You should, ideally, have worked alongside scaffolders and access works contractors and have a working knowledge of both aspects Be able to demonstrate a progressive career path. Must be self-motivated and possess good organisational and communication skills. Must have good interpersonal skills. Must have knowledge of Construction / Health & Safety Regulations. The candidate will have previous experience in site supervision of Overhead Line contracts, in particular on steel tower construction at higher voltages (circa 132kV and above). Experience will involve supervision of all technical aspects of line construction in a site environment. Should have some experience of various types of foundation construction utilised in Transmission projects and should be conversant with setting out instruments and techniques. Will have some previous experience in the management of sub-contractors and the recording of measurement details to enable financial settlement. Experience of managing Foremen, Linesworkers and Subcontractors and will be required to liaise with Clients and third parties.
