As Civil Engineer, you will provide technical guidance and solutions on a range of potable water infrastructure capital projects, being involved at early conception of the scheme to final completion. Reporting to a Senior Civil Engineer, the Civil Engineer will be responsible for their own technical deliverables.
These deliverables will be associated with the wider Capital delivery programme for the infrastructure and non-infrastructure capital investment.
The role will include ensuring quality and CDM2015 compliance of technical delivery whilst utilising the company's engineering specification and quality assurances processes. The role will require reviewing and implementing appropriate procedures and principles.
Although this role offers hybrid working, you will be expected to travel to any location or site within South East Water’s supply areas, as required, as part of the project(s) you are working on e.g. pre-construction and construction phase elements such as scoping or Contractor progress/design review meetings, defect reviews etc.

What will you be accountable for?
* Check and Review of project scopes ensuring they achieve the required outputs.
* Providing technical solutions and support on intermediate capital projects with the support of a senior engineer, including the production of Scope Documents, Design Drawings, CDM Documents and compilation of job specification packs and works information, to required deadlines.
* Undertake checking of others work for technical acceptance.
* Mentoring of Graduate Civil engineers and apprentices at project level.
* Liaison with internal and external 3rd parties to seek approvals to facilitate projects.
* Undertaking site visits to undertake audits and provide guidance to contractors.
What do you bring to the role?
* HNC, HND or degree in Civil Engineering or other similar.
* Working towards Chartership.
* Knowledge and experience of CIWEM standards and specifications would be advantageous.
* Sound Knowledge of relevant Civil Engineering specific standards and practices.
* Experience in the utility industry, preferably in potable water would be beneficial.
* Experience in design, construction and maintenance of infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets, including WTW, Booster plants, pipelines, services and hydraulics.
* Demonstrable experience in the construction industry, ideally in the water sector.
* Have a strong awareness and understanding of industry standards and specifications.
* Understanding of NEC contracts and their application.
* Understanding of CDM 2015 and how it is applied to projects.
