Job overview
As a Children and Young People Programme Manager, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across East of England's Children and Young People Transformation Programme and Clinical Network.
This role will support NHS England priorities for Children and Young People in driving transformation, as well as adding value for money in planning, commissioning and service delivery.
Main duties of the job
* Delivery of work to support the Children & Young People Transformation Programme.
* Address variation and improve quality within local children and young people services especially within high areas of need and deprivation to ensure quality of access to CYP health services across the systems.
* Working collaboratively with other regional clinical networks and operational delivery networks.
* Delivery of work to support the development of the CYP long term conditions workstreams including asthma, diabetes and epilepsy.
* Leading on digital transformation within the CYP workstreams.
* Lead and support work to tackling inequalities and health inequalities.

* To manage the planning, delivery and assurance of large scale programmes of quality improvement which supports commissioners in achieving outcome ambitions for service users.
* To manage and maintain credibility with all the key players within the network community, fostering a culture of collaboration for the delivery of equitable, high quality care.
* To understand, communicate and implement national policy through network and regional improvement activities.
* To keep abreast of national best practice in CYP services, ensuring this is shared and widespread adoption secured through advanced influencing skills.
* Proactively manage stakeholders, respond to and resolve conflict when this arises through facilitation or other appropriate mechanisms.
* To establish and maintain highly effective communication routes in line with the needs of the diverse range of network stakeholder interests.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
* Highly developed specialist knowledge of generic patient experience research.
Knowledge and Experience
* Has knowledge and experience of service improvement methodologies and improvement tools, underpinned by theory.
* Extensive knowledge of specialist areas acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master’s level equivalent.
* Comprehensive experience of project principles techniques and tools such as Prince 2 and Managing Successful Projects.
* Have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement.
* Experience of managing and motivating a team/virtual team and reviewing performance of the individuals.
* Experience of identifying and interpreting national policy.
