As a Teaching Assistant at The Long Eaton School, you will have the opportunity to embody the School's ethos of inclusivity. The Learning Support department supports a wide range of students, allowing staff the unique opportunity to develop skills across subjects, SEND needs, and a variety of provisions. You will work as an inclusion champion, ensuring that students are able to access the academic, social, and well-being provision on offer at the School.
Level 2 Teaching Assistants have a leadership and small group teaching role within the Learning Support Base. These roles are dependent on the level of experience and level of expertise. However, Level 2 Teaching Assistants will take on the role of supporting a team of Level 1 Teaching Assistants. They are role models for other staff who are developing their Level 1 Teaching Assistant roles and will liaise closely with Pastoral Leads, Curriculum Leads, and external agencies where appropriate. Level 2 Teaching Assistants work closely with both the SENDCo and Autism Resource Centre Lead. This is a rewarding role and opportunity for the right candidate, with the flexibility of creating a post that will match existing experience and skills. If you would like the job satisfaction of being part of a passionate and committed team, genuinely making a real difference to students' lives, then we would love to hear from you.
Candidates should pay attention to the job description/person specification and explain within their application how they meet the criteria, whilst also describing what they will bring to the post from their own knowledge and experience.
The role will be based at The Long Eaton School, but the post holder may at any time be required to support or work at any of the sites within Archway Learning Trust.
