We have made significant investments in our digital platforms and data capabilities and we are now looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager / Portfolio Lead to join our business in the UK and lead the creation of a portfolio management function. We will rely on you to: Design and implement a portfolio management rhythm of activity that ensures underwriting practice leads are empowered with the insights they need to deliver the right outcomes for our customers, achieve the Victor business plan and deliver on our underwriting promise to our insurer partners. Work with our team of digital analysts and our existing reporting and dashboards to develop standardised reports which cover all key portfolio health indicators. Actively monitor portfolio health indicators and facilitate product reviews with underwriting practice leads. Support the business planning process and identify critical P&L drivers to track through the year. Support the underwriting practice leads and CUO with Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), aligning QBR packs with underlying portfolio management processes. Demonstrate the value of active portfolio management by identifying and delivering quick wins followed by continuous iterative improvements. Work with stakeholders in the underwriting, actuarial and analyst teams to support pricing initiatives. What you need to have: A comprehensive understanding of the Portfolio Management cycle with experience applying this in practice in general insurance. A clear vision for 'what good looks like' in a commercial general insurance portfolio management function with the ability to apply a flexible, solution-oriented approach to implement this. Outstanding communications skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the business. A passion for data driven insights, challenging the status quo and facilitating superior decision making. A track record of leading and delivering change and operating at pace within a multi-stakeholder environment. A solid understanding of the Microsoft office suite, with advanced Excel knowledge a given. Familiarity with reserving, pricing and business planning practices with experience working with experts in these fields.
