What will you be doing?
ALTEN Ltd, a leading engineering consultancy, provides expert solutions to major clients in the automotive, aerospace, defence, and energy sectors. We specialize in delivering innovative engineering solutions through a dynamic team of highly skilled engineers.
We are currently seeking a Tolerance Analysis Engineer to join our growing team and support exciting projects within the automotive sector. This is a hybrid role based in Crewe.
Your main responsibilities will be:
* Conduct tolerance analysis for Body-in-White (BiW) components, including both exterior (e.g., doors, bumpers, bonnets) and interior (e.g., seats, dashboards) systems.
* Utilize 3DCS Tolerance Analysis Software to assess and optimize design tolerances for various assemblies.
* Ensure designs meet GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards and address Gaps & Rads requirements.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality, to resolve tolerance-related issues.
* Manage and maintain technical documentation and analysis reports.
* Work with TeamCentre to handle CAD data and documentation.
* Use Catia v5/v6 for component and system design reviews.
Who are we looking for?
* Proven experience with 3DCS Tolerance Analysis Software (used across industries, including aerospace).
* Proficiency in TeamCentre for data management.
* Hands-on experience with Catia v5/v6 for design and review purposes.
* Strong knowledge of tolerancing, including GD&T principles.
* Familiarity with Gaps & Rads standards in the automotive or related industries.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
