A rare opportunity to shape and lead an in-house finance function in a fast-growing, ambitious business. Having previously outsourced finance, we are bringing this function in-house for the first time, creating a pivotal role for a hands-on Financial Controller to establish and drive best-in-class financial processes.
About the Business
A dynamic and growing property development and regeneration company, we specialise in residential-led town centre regeneration. With a £1bn+ development pipeline and institutional investment partnerships, we need a highly capable Financial Controller to lead this transition and ensure the business is financially robust as it scales.
The Role
This is a newly created, hands-on position, responsible for building robust financial systems, processes, and reporting from the ground up. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will take full ownership of financial operations, ensuring strong controls, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Control & Reporting – Oversee financial operations across a group of 60 entities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
2. Cashflow & Treasury Management – Manage multiple bank accounts and oversee cashflow forecasting.
3. Compliance & Tax – Ensure timely statutory reporting, VAT returns, and tax compliance, working with external advisors.
4. Commercial & Residential Portfolios – Oversee service charge accounting, rent invoicing, and portfolio finance management.
5. Systems & Processes – Develop in-house financial processes, ensuring efficiency as the business grows.
About You
1. Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with strong technical expertise.
2. A self-starter who thrives in a hands-on role.
3. Commercially astute with excellent problem-solving skills.
4. Strong communicator, able to work across the business.
