Operating across the UK and Europe, Doff Portland, part of Pelsis Group, is a global manufacturer and distributor of innovative pest management solutions for professional and retail markets. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Finance Manager to join our team. The purpose of the role is to provide financial input and analysis for Doff UK, working with the Doff Operations Director, GM – UK & RoW, and the UK Distribution and Finance Business Partner, involved in all business activities and new initiatives.
* You will be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting for Doff, ensuring day-to-day transactions are entered into the accounting system correctly, through to meeting all internal and external reporting requirements in full, on time and with high accuracy.
* Monthly Reporting - You will be comfortable working to short month end deadlines, as well as regular external reporting requirements.
* Submitting accurate monthly accounts to Group Finance that have been fully reviewed.
* Providing detailed commentary to Regional GM to assist understanding of the monthly financial performance.
* Ensure that financial reporting complies with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
* Ensure that external reporting requirements for the business are met, including VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales, ONS surveys.
* Forecasting and Budgeting
* Partner with the business to produce the annual budget
* Collaborate in the design of budget holder reviews using analysis of actuals vs budget with stakeholder requirements and feedback
* Identify opportunities to work with Operations to improve profitability based on analysis of the financials.
* Prepare weekly cashflow forecasts and drive improvement in net working capital.
* Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review reconciliations completed by the Accounts Assistant on a monthly basis implementing improvements and efficiencies as needed and escalating risks to the Group CFO.
* Line management responsibility for the Accounts Assistant and Financial Analyst.
* Work closely with Pelsis’ group auditors to ensure the smooth completion of annual financial audits.
* Adhoc support to the Group Finance team as and when required.
* Adhoc support and partnering with the wider business as and when required
To succeed in this role you will be able to demonstrate a successful history of working in a fast paced working environment, with knowledge to allow you to fulfil the demands of this role.
* Be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
* Have experience in working in a similar role within manufacturing.
* Have excellent people/line management skill
* Communicate financial data in a confident and engaging manner to non-financial colleagues.
* Have the ability to work productively and flexibly under pressure to meet tight deadlines, especially those at month end.
* Have strong communication skills in order to work alongside colleagues and all internal and external stakeholders and a proven track record of Business Partnering at all levels within an organisation.
* Be a self-starter who wishes to take ownership of the role and can suggest areas of development to create greater efficiencies within the role.
* Work well within a team as well independently
* Having experience of using SAP Business One, Navision or Microsoft AX would be valued, but not deemed a necessity.
Salary and benefits:
£50 000 - £60 000p/a
40 hour working week (flexible on start times outside of core hours, 9am-3pm)
