ABOUT THE MODEL Brandon Centre Systemic Integrative Treatment (BC-SIT) has been developed in accordance with NICE guidelines to treat antisocial and/ or harmful behaviour in children and adolescents. It is an intensive community-based family treatment model which works with the systems around the young person, including family, school and peers to address the causal and maintaining factors to the behaviour. Therapists work primarily with parents, in a collaborative and non-judgemental way, to empower them to effect change. This is achieved by building on their strengths and providing families with the tools and confidence to navigate current and future problems and reduce the risk of further antisocial/ harmful. There are two phases to the intervention: Phase 1 is intensive treatment delivery, which will include 2 - 3 home visits per week and can last up to 6 months; Phase 2 is delivered by a designated Phase 2 SIT therapist and can extend total treatment time to 1 year, and includes monthly sessions with the family, attendance at professional meetings, and ongoing consultation with key professionals. Job Description: Supervisory Role: Delivery of weekly group and bi/monthly/monthly individual supervision of SIT therapists to provide specialist evidence-based therapeutic and behavioural interventions to families to keep children living at home, in school, and out of the Criminal Justice and Care system. Carry out Suitability Assessments with families for incoming cases jointly with allocated Therapist or Service Lead. Provide weekly written paperwork feedback on Therapist case paperwork in order to maintain robust supervision procedures and detailed working knowledge of current cases. Be available to therapists during the week if required for case check-ins and dynamic supervision. Participation in '2nd on call' rota to ensure support is available to therapists who are delivering the on-call service to families. Hold clinical responsibility for cases across the allocated SIT team. Exercises professional judgement and uses appropriate systemic methods and interventions to support the best possible outcomes for children and young people. Contributes to team training and presentations, and wider strategic SIT initiatives and service needs. Engages effectively with families and professionals at all levels. Communicates effectively when exploring/sharing clinically sensitive information, including contentious and highly distressing information to children, their families, carers and other professional colleagues. Adherence and accountability for self and staff to Data Protection, GDPR and information sharing legislation and policies. Maintains and evaluates accurate and up to date case records across team and works within confidentiality and information sharing protocols. Works in a way that recognises and considers the Social GGRRAAACCEEESSS of both families and colleagues. Utilises theory and evidence-based practice in delivery of the SIT approach. To deliver presentations to promote the SIT service to stakeholders as appropriate. Case Holding Responsibilities: Engage primary caregiver and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by continuously identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement and alignment with intervention. As per the Phase 1 model of treatment, meet with the family approx. 2- 3 times per week to provide direct treatment using methods compatible with SIT Flexible and responsive approach to meet the needs of the family Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment that promotes peer and supervisory review and feedback, and that demonstrate compliance with the SIT Principles and the SIT AIM. Collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system to ensure their buy-in and cooperation throughout SIT treatment. Work collaboratively with other services involved with the family, attending and participating in meetings such as Child Protection Conferences, Core Group meetings. Prepare reports for Child protection conferences, court and other reports as necessary. Prepare monthly progress reports for key stakeholders in a timely manner. Participate in all training, supervision and consultation activities. Video and audio tape sessions as requested by supervisor for supervision and model adherence purposes Must not hold additional part-time jobs outside of the agency.
