Salary: Scale PO2, GBP 42897,00 : GBP 46503,00 per annum
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week
Contract: Temporary up to 24 months

Are you looking for a new and interesting challenge?
The successful candidate will manage strategic change projects, analysing business opportunities and processes to continuously improve service and delivery.
Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Establish, lead and motivate temporary project teams, making sure the right business experts provide input and external experts, such as Estates, IT etc are actively engaged in delivering the project.
2. Construct business cases for a project, setting out the objectives, evidence base, options, operational benefits and value for money case, enabling senior officers to make sound evidence based decisions
3. Produce clear timetabled project plans and other mandatory documentation using relevant project tools e.g. MS:Project and provide regular communication updates, e.g. highlight reports, status reports, internal and external communications etc and present at senior leadership governance meetings as and when required.
4. Track progress against project plans and objectives, holding individuals to account for actions and making sure each element is on track.
5. Manage the budget and financial deliverables : tracking of cost vs. benefits of each project.
6. Analyse the risks / issues involved, finding suitable mitigation where feasible and escalate changes, risks and delays as appropriate.

Essential Qualifications
Educated to QCF Level 6 OR work experience deemed to have brought the post holder to a comparable level. Relevant Project management certification for example PMP, CAPM, CSM or Prince 2 practitioner certification.
Apprenticeship Route: Internal applicants with no previous experience of working in project management will be accepted onto the Apprenticeship Programme with a QCF Level 6 qualification. English and Maths GCSE/Level 2 grade E (2) or above (this is a minimum requirement of the Project Management Apprenticeship Training Course) Apprentices will receive full training to achieve a formal qualification and achieve the apprenticeship funded by the apprenticeship levy.
Essential Experience
1. Proven use of MS Project, Powerpoint, Word and Excel or equivalent software systems in a project environment.
2. Proven successful delivery in an organisational change project/programme environment which reduced costs while improving performance.
3. Delivering projects to deadlines and within budget
