Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Packer to join our warehouse and workshop team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that products are accurately packed and prepared for shipment. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality control. You will also be involved in basic workshop duties which will require you to get hands-on in a physical role.
Duties
* Accurately pack products according to specifications and ensure that all items are correctly labelled for shipping.
* Perform quality control checks to verify that products meet company standards before packing.
* Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including the unloading of goods, and checking for discrepancies in shipments.
* Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment safely and efficiently.
* Engage in heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper lifting techniques are followed to prevent injury.
* Maintain an organised work area, ensuring that stock is stored correctly and efficiently within the warehouse.
* Utilise the warehouse management system to track inventory levels and assist with stock management as needed.
* Collaborate with team members to achieve daily packing targets and support overall warehouse operations.
Experience
* Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred, particularly in roles involving picking, packing, or shipping/receiving tasks.
* Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous for effective inventory tracking.
* Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for operating packing machinery or equipment safely.
* Experience with quality control processes will be considered an asset.
* A strong understanding of materials handling practices, including safe lifting techniques and equipment operation, is essential.
* Must be eligible to work full-time in the UK.
