Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be expected to provide the delivery of high-quality specialist oncology care for patients on the oncology inpatient ward, by demonstrating a range of essential specialist nursing skills to meet the needs of the patients with Oncology conditions/diseases. The post-holder will be expected to provide an expert clinical and leadership function in the assessment of care needs for the Oncology population/client group, with an emphasis on care delivery and management of the in-patient service. Will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team by demonstrating a range of essential specialist nursing skills to meet the needs of the patient. The post-holder is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care in the ward care setting. The post-holder will be expected to co-ordinate and participate in the provision of health education for the patient population. The post-holder will be expected to co-ordinate and participate in the provision of specialist treatments for patients attending the ward.

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
* RN NMC registrant
* BSc (Hons) Degree
* Venepuncture and cannulation
* Recognised teaching qualification
EXPERIENCE
* Significant experience working within Oncology
* Varied experience in Oncology Nursing
* Evidence of leadership and development
* Evidence of audit and research experience
* Experience of working autonomously and managing a clinical caseload
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
* Caring and professional
* Ability to work independently.
