The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our rapidly developing Occupational Therapy Service in Tameside. Whether you’re a newly qualified Occupational Therapist, just completing a rotation or have existing experience in these fields we would love to hear from you.
We are an important and integral part of organisational plans for Integrated Social and Health Care Systems across the Tameside footprint. As Occupational Therapists we are actively involved in this process and in some aspects, are at the front edge of delivery and development within these wider Services.
As Therapists we work in three, distinct Occupational Therapy Service areas. Early Intervention and Prevention, Moving and Handling and thirdly Adaptations and Complex Equipment. We are aligned with other Professionals across four separate neighbourhood Teams. These include Social Workers, District Nursing, and also Primary Care Nursing. Joint Working alongside our Professional colleagues has allowed us to deliver the best outcomes for our Service Users. In addition, our most recent service developments have demonstrated not only the importance of Occupational Therapy to the overall success of service wide developments but also revealed new training and development needs for our Profession.
All Occupational Therapist rotate across all service areas and work with Adults with a variety of health conditions including Learning Disabilities, Trauma and Neurological conditions. These roles will provide a solid grounding for both experienced and newly qualified Occupational Therapists.
About You
We are looking for qualified Occupational Therapists with enthusiasm, passion for learning and development, a great team player and drive to be part of an exciting, rapidly developing Occupational Therapy Service. The roles and responsibilities will include managing a case load with support from your supervisor, assessing the manual handling needs across community settings, new referral triage and assessing for equipment and adaptations to allow our service users to live an independent and full life.
Our commitment and investment in your training and professional development is of upmost importance. Training will be provided across all aspects of the roles as required. There are regular Team Meetings and Continuing Professional Development and training are valued and prioritised.
Car driver with own vehicle is essential.
