Job summary
Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board (HWE ICB) is looking for a Deputy Director of Nursing and Quality to work within the ICB's Nursing and Quality Team.
The post holder will provide leadership to the team, ensuring that the Nursing and Quality Directorate discharges its statutory functions and puts in place effective systems and processes that drive quality improvement, quality oversight and quality assurance and address health inequalities.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering the priority areas within Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB's Nursing and Quality Directorate. Key duties will include;
To provide strong visible clinical leadership promoting a culture of professionalism, and inclusion and a single system view, to support and enable the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality services to the Hertfordshire and west Essex population.
To ensure patient safety is embedded as everyone's business and is maintained across all aspects of commissioned services.
To actively support the ICS Director of Nursing & Quality to ensure that the ICB exercises its functions effectively, efficiently and with good governance.
The post holder will ensure that the team operates within a matrix management structure and influences all aspects of business through appropriate and robust systems of quality assurance, and quality improvement which enables the delivery of shared functional and strategic objectives.
To Deputise for the Director of Nursing and Quality and as a member of the wider leadership team including attendance at key meetings both internally and externally as required.
To take a Functional lead responsibility for defined ICB quality portfolios as agreed with the Director of Nursing & Quality.

1. Appropriate professional registration eg NMC
2. Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience in specialist area
3. Significant management experience at senior level in the NHS or other public healthcare related industry
4. Experience of successfully operating in and delivering priorities in a partnership environment

5. Ability to prepare and produce concise/insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required
6. The ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships and wide support networks in a political context
