A well-established commercial landscaping contractor is seeking an organised and proactive Estimating Assistant to join their commercial team based in Liphook, Hampshire. This key supporting role within the estimating function is ideal for an individual with a couple of years’ experience who is looking to develop their career within a business that values initiative, precision, and a hands-on attitude. The successful candidate will report directly to the Commercial Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the estimating team by maintaining core systems such as job trackers
*
Accurately measuring and pricing new-build housing and large commercial projects
*
Ordering materials for live sites through a trusted supplier network
*
Liaising with suppliers to negotiate prices and confirm lead times
*
Raising purchase orders and assisting with various office-based administrative tasks
*
Attending site meetings with clients independently or as part of a team
*
Providing support on site and in the yard when require
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
*
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an estimating role (construction or landscaping)
*
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
*
Experience with AutoDesk Design Review or Bluebeam
*
Familiarity with Google Docs/Sheets
*
Understanding of soft landscaping and installation of hard landscaping elements
*
Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
*
Confident in negotiating with suppliers and managing material procurement
*
Proactive, driven, and willing to adopt a hands-on approach when required
*
Full UK driving licence
Desirable (but not essential):

Relevant qualification or degree in a related field
*
SMSTS certification
*
CSCS card
