Premier Work Support are excited to be recruiting for Drivers for a Global company based in Crawley on a temporary basis however for the right candidates this could lead to a permanent role.
A Driver is responsible for loading and unloading catering consignments onto a truck as per the daily plan and flight schedule, ensuring all safety, security, and customer guidelines are followed. The driver ensures timely catering and de-catering of aircrafts, adhering to safety regulations. The role also includes vehicle checks, documentation handling, and reporting of incidents, while maintaining a clean and secure environment at all times.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Conduct security and safety checks before use at the start of each shift.
Report defects or damages to the team leader.
Ensure vehicle is security checked and sealed before departure.
Ensure vehicle refrigeration is on to maintain required temperatures.
Safely load and unload catering items on the truck and aircraft following airport and airline guidelines.
Drive according to DVLA, local, and airport rules. Engage with aircraft crew by handing over delivery paperwork.
Offload catering back to the unit.
Use tachograph correctly and follow road traffic regulations.
Operate high loader vehicles safely as per training.
Deliver and collect from various destinations when required.
Report any accidents or incidents to the Line Manager.
Wear correct uniform and personal protective equipment at all times.
Ensure vehicles are clean and carry out minor maintenance (e.g., screen wash, Ad-blue).
Work in other areas of the business as required (e.g., administration, stores, bond store).
Adhere to site safety measures, security compliance, and "clean as you go" standards.
Interact professionally with colleagues and clients on site.
Follow corporate and social responsibility initiatives.
Comply with all QHSE policies, procedures, and any new or amended practices.
Carry out additional tasks as requested by the manager.
Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum 3 years of driving experience.
Ability to work calmly under pressure.
Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
Good literacy skills (verbal, written, and spoken).
Knowledge of HACCP, COSHH, DDA, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, and DFT requirements.
Flexibility to work across different business areas.
Class 2 driving license.
Work-Related Circumstances:
Flexibility required to work extra hours, weekends, bank holidays, and evenings as needed.
Work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to noisy areas near aircraft.
Consideration should be given to changing weather conditions.
Must be able to access all areas of the property and airport, including stairwells, confined spaces, and heights.
May involve lifting heavy or bulky items following manual handling guidelines.
Essential Requirements:
Current UK Class C driving license, CPC qualification, and digital tachograph.
Adherence to uniform and PPE standards.
Complete paperwork within specified standards and timeframes.
Compliance with all training and safety standards (e.g., HACCP, DFT, COSHH, Food Safety).
Ability to perform other tasks as directed by management.Shifts:
5 on 3 off with start times between 03:00 & 09:00 completeing 9.5 hours of work a day.
