The School of Nursing and Midwifery is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Principal Lecturer who will provide leadership support and experience for all our pre-registration nursing provision. As a member of the School Leadership Team you will contribute to the development of the schools vision and strategy, enhancing its profile and reputation across the region and nationally.
The successful candidate will work with academic teams to develop policies and practices with particular reference to student experience, success and achievement. In particular, we are seeking an individual who can help improve student retention across the school, bringing new ideas and an ability to implement change successfully.
Focus will also be upon enabling staff development, contributing to the appraisal process and deputising for the relevant Associate Dean where necessary.
The successful candidate will have a strong record of successful academic leadership in Nursing, including programme and curriculum development and enhancement. They will be able to demonstrate through application and interview that they are able to build and sustain internal and external relationships and that they are self-motivated, self-reliant and proactive. They must have an in depth knowledge of the relevant regulatory bodies and an ability to meet deadlines effectively.
The successful candidate will have a doctorate/ higher degree or equivalent professional qualifications.
