Role Overview:
The Junior Merchandiser will play a pivotal role in supporting Linzi's e-commerce operations. This position involves daily tasks such as product uploads, stock management, performance reporting, and working closely with buyers, suppliers, and internal teams to optimise product offerings and drive online sales.
Product & Stock Management:
* Product Management: Oversee daily product uploads, ensuring accurate descriptions, pricing, and imagery on the e-commerce platform.
* Stock Coordination: Monitor stock levels across Linzi’s website and marketplace platforms (e.g., NEXT, Matalan & Silkfred), ensuring timely replenishment and availability.
* Stock Replenishment Planning: Work with suppliers and internal teams to ensure stock is replenished in line with sales trends.
* Weekly Sales Stock & Intake (WSSI): Monitor and manage weekly sales, stock, and intake to ensure optimal stock levels and trading performance.
* Supplier Liaison: Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and address any supply issues.
* Analyse sales data to identify best and worst-selling products, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
* Trading Performance Reviews: Regularly review product/category performance and make recommendations for improvements.
* Generate regular reports on product performance, stock levels, and sales trends for review by senior management.
* Category Management: Assist the marketing team in optimising the online product assortment, ensuring a strong balance of bestsellers, core products, and new arrivals.
* Competitor Analysis: Monitor competitor pricing, promotions, and product assortments to help shape Linzi’s merchandising strategy.
* Collaborative Planning: Participate in weekly trade meetings, offering insights on product performance and assisting in planning promotional activities and markdowns.
* Owns End-of-Season Sales (EOSS) Strategy & Stock Exit Plans: Develop and implement the EOSS strategy, ensuring effective stock exit plans that align with brand perception and profitability.
* Leads Season Reviews & Future Planning: Conduct seasonal reviews to analyse performance, identify key insights, and inform future merchandising strategies.
* Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with the E-commerce Assistant and other departments to align merchandising strategies with marketing and sales objectives.
* Supporting Buying Team: Assist the buying team with range planning and product selections based on performance data.
* Team Management: Oversee the Merchandising Assistant (MA), ensuring their workload is effectively prioritised.
Experience & Skills Required:
* Experience: Proven experience in a merchandising role within the fashion retail sector, suitable for candidates with experience but not at a senior level.
* Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyse sales data and market trends to inform decision-making.
* Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Shopify; experience with other merchandising or e-commerce platforms is a plus.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
* Organisational Skills: Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
