The Highways Network Management team is looking to appoint a Senior Engineer covering the Streetworks co-ordination and compliance activities on the highway network throughout Kirklees.

The Role
The role will focus on the coordination and management of activities (road works, public events, or emergency incidents) on the council’s roads and footways, and their compliance with legislation and local policies. The day-to-day activities include:
* Maintain the Council’s Network Management duty in all matters, with a clear focus on minimising delay and disruption.
* Be responsible for the effective co-ordination of road/streetworks and public events.
* Monitor and ensure compliance with required procedures and legislation.
* Attend and manage co-ordination and performance meetings as required with works promoters, neighbouring authorities, and other affected organisations and people.
* Formulate replies to enquiries and service requests as required and provide advice to engineers/senior engineers.
* Predominantly office-based, attending meetings and site meetings.
* Hold a full and valid driving licence, and a willingness to undertake a Kirklees Council driving assessment.
This role includes travelling to and between sites, which requires a full and valid driving licence and completion of a Kirklees Council driving assessment.
