We are currently recruiting Electrical and Mechanical Fitters for start dates throughout 2025. Siemens is creating its first UK based Rail Industry Hub on the outskirts of Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire. With an initial contract to assemble nearly 50 trains to service the Piccadilly line on the London Underground we are starting to recruit up to 300 skilled technical and support colleagues in our Manufacturing Facility. Soon follow-on work is expected to bring this number of trains into the hundreds, along with an expansion on the site into maintenance and overhaul activities displaying a long-term commitment to the area and growth in employment and career opportunities. Without our Mechanical and Electrical fitters our trains cannot come together, you will work on our cutting-edge products on a daily basis, gaining a real understanding of how our products are assembled. We expect you to support and suggest improvements to increase safety, quality and efficiency of our processes, to provide our customers with real value. In an Electrical role, you'll make a difference by Working within your skill set and work area to carry out assembly tasks on electro-mechanical part, components, assemblies, or sub-assemblies as assigned by your supervisor or set to system. Including but not limited to: Crimping and termination of electrical looms or similar Connector Plug Assembly to plan Cable routing to layout plans Documentation of activities on the appropriate paper or glass systems, or Using a variety of automated and manual test equipment to check our low and high voltage electrical systems throughout the production process to confirm that the team have achieved the required standards to meet our customers' expectations. In a Mechanical role, you'll make an impact by Working safely as part of a small team, directly involved in the assembly of our trains at the Goole Rail Village, conducting a variety of tasks at all stages of the final assembly process. Following engineering drawings and operating processes in line with the production schedule, seeking support from your team, quality and engineering as required. Being involved in the, assembly of components, mounting of components and preparatory work such as drilling, grinding or similar. There will also be a requirement for some of you to be involved in bonding and pipe-fitting activities. You'll win us over by Experience of working within a Manufacturing, Maintenance or Overhaul environment in a similar role Experience of working with powered and hand tools within a mechanical environment, or Suitable levels of experience working on complex Electrical Systems, with crimping, terminating or electrical systems testing.
