The DEVELOP Directorate is large and complex, covering Force Development, Capability Sponsorship, Programme Delivery and Capability Planning. Due to the size and span of the Directorate the Business Management Team is required to support all functional business activities, programme management and governance as well as overseeing ‘business as usual’ elements of capability output.
The Develop Business Support Services Lead role ensures that all Directorate support activities are actively managed and actioned in line with business need and in support of Develop Strategic Objectives and business outputs.
We need someone who can,
Support, facilitate and co-ordinate delivery by providing key military advice to Director Develop, Chief of Staff, and our wider senior management team by being involved in a range of portfolio areas to enable timely delivery of the Directorates key requirements.
Utilise all Navy Command management tools, to support the Directorate to deliver at pace, on time and to budget across all business areas to inform priorities.
Hold strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied portfolio, with the ability to manage a range of events, handling logistical details, coordinating effectively across a range of differing needs.
Apply strengths of quality written and verbal communication, with experience of developing and implementing impactful comms and engagement strategies, by being responsive, helpful, and clear in all correspondence and able to adapt approach and Directorate requirements when needed.
Ability to manage a varied and uneven workload effectively, involving ongoing business-as-usual activity.
Responsibilities
Finance:
Manage the collation of all Business Financial Information and act at the Directorate Electronic Procurement Card (ePC) Manager.
Developing and maintaining business profiling mechanisms, supporting the Delivery Manager with financial analysis against spend & completing the annual profiling for the Directorate.
Management of CP&F activities.
Management of ePC Card applications, Compliance checks and audit activities (LVP Manager)
Information Management:
Oversee all Information Management activities, providing advice, guidance and assurance to the Delivery Manager, SIO and IAO.
Develop and implement Directorate wide Information Management Approach and Plan.
Establish and oversee all information management processes within the Directorate, ensuring alignment with JSP441.
Represent the Directorate at Information Management forums, boards and working groups.
Business Support:
Manage the delivery of all business support services and associated tasks required to provide a professional service across the Develop Directorate, including:
Leading Business Team Agile activities.
Maintaining the Business Continuity Plan.
Managing Business Risk Management activities.
Overseeing Internal Events activities eg: Staff Away Days.
Security Management.
Travel Management.
Lead on activities for Manage the Business Board.
Communications and Industry Engagement:
Lead the co-ordination of all Directorate communications activities.
Develop and implement the Directorate Communications and Engagement Approach.
Ensure that all internal communication activities are completed to support DEVELOP Business.
Establish a pipeline of wider communications opportunities liaising with RN C&I to deliver.
Maintaining and Overseeing the Communications and Engagement Tracker.
Attending and overseeing the Industry Engagement Meetings, Tracker and Events.
Overseeing internal events with planning and booking with also supporting and attending main events like DSEI & CNE.
Ad hoc activities in support of the DEVELOP Business & Portfolio Office Manager as required across all team functions and Line Management responsibility for 2 x EO’s.
