Job Description:
Since the launch of Candy Crush in 2013, King has experienced significant growth in the mobile gaming category, driven in large part by Performance Marketing (mobile UA & DRTV), of which King was one of the first gaming developers to embrace and scale.
With increased competition and more demanding consumers, we need to evolve the way we communicate with both active and new players to ensure the game remains relevant to over 200 million monthly players globally.
To help us on this journey, we are looking for an experienced best-in-class Media and Communications Planner who will support the development of our integrated media strategy to connect with new players, working collaboratively across the Marketing organization and our external partner agencies, primarily the media agency.
Your role within our Kingdom:
* Supporting the Communications Planning Senior Manager and Associate Director, you will be responsible for developing truly integrated media/creative led strategies that attract and engage new and active player audiences, including audience and market/competitor research, budget allocation across channels, media strategies & tactics, measurement, and reporting.
* The role will involve responsibility for the entire marketing mix (excluding performance marketing); therefore, experience in developing cohesive and measurable communications strategies and understanding the role of brand media within this is essential. You will have a strong understanding of how to develop campaigns across the full media mix, including paid/owned/earned, to maximize impact.
* You will be a key contact with the media agency, responsible for prioritizing day-to-day deliverables, managing projects, and supporting agency discussions both internally and externally, with the ability to get the most out of our agency partners in the most collaborative way possible.
* Grounding and experience in digital media strategy and implementation, especially within social platforms. DRTV is also a key always-on growth lever for Candy, and experience planning this media channel is a plus.
* Work with internal marketing teams to ensure plans are aligned, integrated, measured, and that deliverables align with overall plan strategies & tactics, and key timelines are met.
* Identify and define key media, content partnership, and innovation opportunities that align with overall marketing strategies.
* Manage measurement projects and media performance benchmarks & KPIs over time, developing measurement and test-and-learn frameworks as part of campaign planning and analysis, working closely with our marketing analytics team.
* Work closely with finance partners to ensure investment is tightly controlled and smoothly delivered.
Skills to create thrills:
* A strategic, collaborative individual who puts player centricity at the center of their thinking.
* Has a track record in developing effective media campaigns.
* Has worked in a media agency or media-related client-side role for a minimum of 5+ years with a solid understanding of the digital and social ecosystem.
* Experience in identifying, designing, and integrating media solutions in response to a marketing brief.
* Has experience of working with multiple agency partners to deliver a single client brief.
* A creative mindset, grounded in commercial goals.
* Experienced with cross-functional teams (internal creative agency, insights, media performance, PR, etc.).
* Insights & data-driven to construct hypotheses & concepts.
* Gaming or entertainment industry experience is a significant plus.
* Our media budget is primarily focused in the US, and as such, experience planning media in this market would be preferable. However, strong communications, media, and tactical planning experience trumps US media market experience for this role.
* Collaborative and humble, you are a motivated team player.
