Business Insights & Analytics Manager
UK Grade: 7
Hours: Full time role. Head Office based (2 days per week in the office).
Purpose: To provide the Management and Account Teams with relevant information, analysis and insight to enable an optimal diagnosis of the situation in each account, recommending appropriate action, monitoring account plans over time, tracking performance and forecasting return on investment (i.e. sales and activity).
Accountabilities / Measures:
1. Lead and maintain effective management information systems and associated reports to monitor market dynamics, track return on investment, meet the reporting requirements of performance objectives and to track performance across DSUK.
2. Develop and maintain a clear understanding of the DSUK objectives, programmes and KPIs.
3. Lead all analytical activities in support of commercial priorities e.g. KPI tracking, management reports, KAM analysis, forecasting, market research, digital analysis etc.
4. Work with stakeholders to regularly monitor, measure and drive performance against metrics, flagging risks and concerns as and when identified.
5. Drive customer analytics to enhance knowledge about customer insights, correlation analysis and identify changes across key accounts.
6. Select and manage the relationship with software providers for business reporting, negotiating effectively with providers to ensure that cost and service delivery versus SLAs are optimised.
7. Maximise the automation of management reporting so that internal efforts are focused on interpretation and actions that will enhance business performance.
8. Agree and develop methodologies with internal stakeholders which will track the return on investment of all significant investments in both marketing programmes and bespoke account level projects.
9. Liaise with key stakeholders from Daiichi Sankyo Europe to agree the appropriate performance metrics and deliver reports to those stakeholders on a regular basis.
Develops and maintains effective systems and processes to monitor and collate competitor information from all appropriate sources to optimise the quality of planning and implementation to drive performance.
1. Maintains a database on all potential competitors including sales-force resource, strategy, positioning and investment levels etc.
2. Develops and implements a system whereby all competitive intelligence gathered across the organisation is collated in one central place to enhance organisational planning.
3. Reports monthly on all competitor activities sourced from across the organisation and shares this information regularly with key decision makers.
4. Maintains a network of external contacts and leverages these relationships to gain timely competitive intelligence.
5. Uses this competitor information to challenge decision making processes, account plans and resourcing needs.
Develops true expertise in the understanding and interpretation of all potential data sets (commercially available and NHS) and converts this data into usable reports, dashboards, and customer engagement tools which incorporate multiple data sets to deliver enhanced planning, and customer engagement.
1. Develops and maintains relationships with all potential data providers (including NHS) and leverages these relationships to deliver organisational expertise in terms of how best to use and interpret this data.
2. Develops and maintains an accurate picture of the structure of emerging and evolving NHS organisations and effectively integrates NHS and commercial data sets so that these organisations can be modelled and tracked over time.
3. Works with external suppliers to use NHS data sets to develop customer-facing Excel based tools which allow a population-based discussion which in turn facilitates optimal customer engagement.
4. Provides bespoke analytics to support account level projects and to facilitate customer engagement.
Drive models for effective decision-making at all levels of the organisation, to drive competitive advantage for Daiichi Sankyo UK and to minimise the reliance on external suppliers.
1. Develops and maintains true expertise in the philosophy, data-sets and systems required to enable KAM to be delivered effectively across the organisation.
2. Maintains a strong understanding of the brand plans and focus for all promoted brands.
3. Maintains a thorough understanding of the evolving NHS agenda and in particular how data is used to performance manage NHS organisations.
4. Develops expertise in all available business tools and the ability to extract, merge and cross-match data from a range of sources.
5. Develops a strong understanding of the company business planning process (both UK and European).
Support and delivery of field related activities and initiatives to ensure the field force is fully optimised, motivated and fully enabled to deliver against DSUK objectives and KPIs.
1. Support the incentive compensation program in conjunction with key stakeholders to ensure the scheme meets DSUK guidelines and drives the right business performance and behaviours.
2. Working with the relevant stakeholders develops and supports customer targeting, segmentation and profiling.
Leads on the development, management and maintenance of our data model to build user friendly solutions (Power BI is a major component) to deliver insights to the wider organisation.
1. Develop, maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards directly or via 3rd party partners, that meet the needs of the business by providing a focus on KPIs and supporting ROI decisions/analysis.
2. Ensure all UK aspects of Data models are kept up to date and information is recorded accurately in the Collibra data catalogue.
3. Ensure the business process management system is maintained.
Technical/Professional Knowledge:
1. Substantial experience working in a similar role.
2. Good understanding of relational databases and data models.
3. Proven ability to deliver concise and impactful analysis.
4. Experience of managing data systems and tools (e.g. by IQVIA, Qlik etc).
5. Thorough understanding of the UK market (e.g. NHS structure, policy/operating framework, types of organisation and customers).
6. Experience of commercially available market and/or NHS data-sets.
7. Excellent attention to detail.
8. A passion for adding value to the business, to customers and patients.
9. Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
10. Expert user of Microsoft Excel.
11. A thorough understanding of the ABPI.
12. Full driving license and ability to travel throughout the UK when needed.
13. Degree level educated (or equivalent).
14. Power BI dashboard development – creating and updating dashboards would be highly desirable.
15. Proven experience with Snowflake and or database design, schema management and basic SQL querying.
16. ABPI Qualified.
17. Market research experience, worked with market research agencies to commission insight gathering.
18. Developing and administering incentive compensation scheme.
19. Has successfully operated within an NHS role analysing NHS information and providing management information to NHS organisations.
20. Forecasting theory, expertise and practice. Within business planning/implementation framework centred on local profit centres.
