MULTI-SKILLED ENGINEER
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position will be responsible for breakdowns, maintenance, and project engineering within the Company’s manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include:
1. Provide engineering support and information for the Engineers and Engineering Manager to support machinery breakdown repairs, maintenance, and development of the manufacturing operations and business needs.
2. Assess, repair, maintain, and develop machinery and equipment, including researching and data collecting as applicable.
3. Assess project requirements and drive projects through to completion, producing relevant reports and presenting solutions in a structured format.
4. Provide manufacturing support relating to plant/process efficiency, safety, and product quality as directed by the Engineering Manager.
5. Ensure engineering workshop procedures and equipment are developed and maintained in satisfactory condition, adhering to environment, health, and safety standards and policies.
6. Complete any other tasks needed to meet business operations requirements/objectives that align with the post-holder's skills and training, primarily in an engineering capacity.
7. Compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures, works instructions, and safe systems of work is mandatory.
8. Liaise with suppliers to achieve optimum solutions.
9. Measure performance of mechanical components, devices, and process supporting functions.
10. Provide reports to applicable stakeholders across the full scope of the business.
Requirements:
1. Experience of PLCs – Siemens Type S5 and S7.
2. Experience of working with Eurotherm and Uni Drives.
3. Time-served Electrical/Mechanical Engineer.
4. 17th Edition Electrical Installation.
5. BTEC or above in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
6. City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering.
7. Multi-skilled in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
8. Ability to fault find on hydraulics and pneumatics.
9. Ability to use workshop machinery, i.e., lathes, jigs, milling machines.
10. Self-motivated, solutions-led, methodical, and a team player.
Hours of Work: Days – 8am to 4.30 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4.00 p.m. Friday - 42 Hours per week. May change to shift working in the future. Flexibility will be required as hours and starting/finishing times may vary to meet business needs.
Call out: Required Monday to Wednesday 5pm to 11pm on a rota basis.
