Newstaff is looking to recruit a Deputy Front of House Hotel Manager for our client based in Berkhamsted, HP4.
Hours: Any 5 days out of 7, 40 hours per week
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a candidate with strong operational experience and excellent people leadership skills to join their Front of House team as Deputy Front of House Manager. This role reports directly to the Front of House Manager. You will assist in managing the team of Receptionists and Venue Services colleagues to ensure departmental operational efficiency.
As Deputy Front of House Manager, you will ensure standards are consistently met and guests receive excellent experiences. Reception is the first point of contact for guests, requiring organization and a guest-centric attitude. Venue Services team handle conference and function space setup, manage portering, and assist guests as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the Venues and Reception teams are aligned with clear communication across all platforms
* Manage both day and night teams to perform to high standards
* Assist in the daily operations of reception and venues as required
* Assist in rota management to meet business needs and complete tasks timely
* Maintain a friendly, welcoming environment for customers, employees, and candidates
* Assist in stock management
* Report structural, cosmetic, or IT issues
* Assist in managing Health & Safety within the department and report incidents
* Oversee security requirements, including key management
* Provide training to new employees and maintain training records
* Perform administrative tasks such as printing and proofreading function sheets
Candidate Profile:
* Flexible and adaptable approach to daily workload
* Customer-focused leader with good communication skills, operational flexibility, and problem-solving abilities
* Experience in hospitality management
* Knowledge of Opera or similar systems, with reception and hosting experience
* Hands-on approach with a positive attitude, leading from the front
