What will you be doing?
You will join our talented Operations team to ensure the Buncefield Terminal and complex remains a safe and reliable area to work. You will conduct day-to-day operations unsupervised and be site Operating Authority in the absence of the Site Supervisor. You will also have line management responsibilities for the control team, thus previous leadership skills would be required. You will be the focal point for site incidents and carry out appropriate managerial requests.
Your main duties and responsibilities:
* Supervise the Control room team shift working and control the working hours of the team to agreed levels.
* Organise and control shift patterns to ensure full cover is maintained for continued operation 24/7 – 365 days.
* Ensure that the control room team competency levels are maintained against requirements set out.
* Assist the Terminal Manager in keeping the site Emergency plan up to date and arranging exercises.
* Put together and run the Daily Operations & Maintenance meeting each weekday morning so all site personnel are aware of what is happening on site for the day and up and coming works.
* Conduct site inspections and permit audits.
* Ensure that all local procedures and risk assessments for the Buncefield site are up to date and new ones required written.
* Provide structured training programmes for new and existing control room staff to meet desired and expected competency.
* Assist in investigations when required.
What do we need from you?
* Ability to work unsupervised and occasionally demanding conditions.
* Be calm under pressure, be reliable and a problem solver.
* Have a good organised and logical approach to work undertaken.
* Have basic IT skills.
* Good numeracy, communication and writing skills are required for this role.
* Committed to working within a small team.
* Understand a COMAH Upper Tier Establishment.

£45,000 basic salary + 20% Shift Allowance
