Summary
Performs a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub-assemblies. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, welding and fitting on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
Job Description
Duties may include:
* Assembles/processes product, parts and assemblies using hand tools, customized tooling, and/or semi-automated equipment.
* Follows written process/assembly documentation.
* Inspects and tests parts, assemblies and product using precision measuring and testing equipment.
* Adjusts process within defined ranges based on measured results.
* Adheres to all safety requirements.
* May write and maintain accurate production documentation instructions.
* Maintains a clean work area.
* May perform basic preventative maintenance and assists in trouble shooting and preparing standard production equipment for maintenance.
* Assures that production schedules are maintained and followed.
* May facilitate team meetings.
* May assist in setting up work schedules.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge
* Highly proficient in multiple production skill areas.
* Solid knowledge of material logistics.
* Solid knowledge of at least two business system/concepts within the work area such as Demand Flow, Statistical Process Control, Process Documentation, Empowerment, Six Sigma methods, Quality and/or Cost Improvement.
* Able to lead discussion, solve problems and take ownership of decisions.
* Good presentation and training skills.
* Ability to write production documentation instructions.
Experience Level with Business Tools
* Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
Typical Education and Experience
* Associate Degree or equivalent experience.
* 6+ years of related experience.
