We are looking for a trained dispensary assistant, with an appropriate dispensing qualification, to join our busy team. Full time or part-time hours are available, with a minimum of 20hrs required. Shifts are variable Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:00am and 18:30pm.
The candidate must have excellent organisational skills and be able to prioritise, demonstrating methodical working processes.
Main duties of the job
* Dispensing a range of prescription types safely and accurately whilst following procedures including travel medication and private prescriptions
* Taking in / handing out prescriptions, completing exemptions, and where appropriate processing payments and counselling patients
* Identifying any errors or near misses and escalating to the appropriate management level
* Stock control, date checking, cleaning, ordering, receiving and rotating stock
* Destroying out of date medication
* Recording fridge temperatures
* To be able to use our computer systems confidently (SystmOne/Titan)
* Processing prescription requests and actioning and responding to patient queries
* Handling patient communications including the telephone and SMS
* Flexibility in working overtime and covering sickness
* Maintain your own professional development

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working in a Dispensary or Pharmacy
* Experience of working within a GP practice
Qualifications
* Qualification in Dispensing
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
Skills and Knowledge
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise work
* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
* Ability to work flexibly as part of a team and independently
* Knowledge of SystmOne clinical system
* Knowledge of Titan PMR system
