The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient movement of goods to meet customer requirements. This role involves managing the end-to-end logistics operations, from procurement to distribution, ensuring that products are delivered on time and in good condition while optimizing costs. The Logistics Manager works closely with other departments such as procurement, production, and sales to streamline operations and improve supply chain efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Logistics Operations Management : Plan, organize, and manage all logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management. Supply Chain Coordination : Work closely with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure the smooth flow of materials and products to meet customer demand and production schedules. Shipping & Receiving : Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and materials, including managing inbound and outbound shipments, tracking, and delivery documentation. Vendor & Supplier Management : Build and maintain relationships with logistics providers, shipping companies, and vendors to negotiate the best rates, ensure reliable service, and resolve any service issues. Cost Optimization : Analyze logistics costs and develop strategies to reduce transportation and warehousing expenses while improving service levels. Compliance & Documentation : Ensure all logistics operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including safety, environmental, and transportation requirements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipping and delivery records. Team Management : Lead, train, and develop the logistics team, ensuring high performance, productivity, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Problem Solving : Address and resolve any logistics-related issues or delays, including handling customer complaints or supply chain disruptions. Technology & Systems : Utilize logistics and supply chain software, including Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and ERP systems, to track shipments, manage inventory, and improve efficiency. Reporting & Analysis : Monitor logistics performance and key performance indicators (KPIs), generate reports for management, and recommend improvements to enhance supply chain effectiveness.
