Our client, a leading manufacturing client based north of York, is looking to recruit an Approval and Product Support Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis. This is a newly created role due to the expansion of the System Support division and improvement of support to equipment deployed globally.
The successful candidate will be required to provide support in design approval processes including, but not limited to, being involved in technical briefs to ensure correct specifications are taken and testing of final products to ensure they are fit for purpose and engineered to required standards.
Candidates will also play a key role in the development of User Manuals for company products to ensure these are user-friendly for clients across the globe. This may involve working on digital content and producing webinars.
Candidates will ideally be qualified in an Electrical Discipline with knowledge of Mechanical Systems, including but not limited to AC/DC systems, Hydraulics, and Electrical Control Systems. Candidates must also be confident in understanding electrical and mechanical Schematics.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are essential as you will be dealing with Engineers in the field and end-user clients to interpret specifications and understand requirements.
This role would suit a candidate with a background in technical authoring or someone involved in writing operation manuals.

Role Description
1. Ensure products fully match our customer and market requirements by working closely with key internal and external stakeholders.
2. Ensure all build and test procedures capture key aspects of a product's functions.
3. Author build, test, and production procedures.
4. Manage and oversee product Manuals including updates and new products.
5. Work with the Support team to conduct online product demonstrations and create meaningful online content suitable for social media.
6. Provide technical insight into Sales and Marketing literature.
7. Log and review all customer support enquiries using the internal database.
8. Take lead and clearly document corrective action activities and exercises.
9. Manage and oversee end-product cycle testing ensuring all products meet or, where possible, exceed market requirements.
Accountabilities:
1. Manage, update, and create Systems O&M Manuals.
2. Work with the support team to create online content including webinars and product demonstrations.
3. Oversee first article testing.
4. Ensure our products fulfill our customers' requirements from a technical and commercial standpoint.
Qualifications/Skills
1. Candidates will ideally be qualified in an Electrical discipline (NVQ/HNC/HND/Degree).
2. Demonstrable experience working within a Technical role involved in aiding with design and product approval and testing.
3. Strong communication skills.
4. Strong written communication and ability to compile technical manuals.
