About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young minds to explore the fascinating world of history. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering students' curiosity about the past and its relevance to the present day.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging History lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in line with the National Curriculum and the school's Christian ethos.
* Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore historical events, figures, and periods with critical thinking and analytical skills.
* Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the school's vision and the latest advancements in history education.
* Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and challenged to reach their full potential.
* Build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting intellectual curiosity and a passion for historical inquiry.
* Play an active role in the department, including contributing to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental meetings.
* Participate in whole-school events and initiatives, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community.
The Ideal Candidate:
* A qualified History Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and fostering their understanding of the past.
* Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for history, with a strong understanding of historical concepts, periods, and methodologies.
* Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
