Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? Protocol Education is seeking SEND Support Assistants to join a well-led, nurturing primary school in North Tyneside.
This full-time, term-time only role involves working with children who have experienced significant trauma and have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). The Role:
* Supporting pupils with SEMH and complex needs in a well-organised and inclusive setting
* Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, engaging learning environment
* Building trusting relationships with pupils to help them overcome barriers to learning
* Encouraging emotional regulation and positive behaviour through tailored strategies
Who Would Be Suitable?
This role would be ideal for psychology graduates, former youth workers, or individuals with experience in mental health and social care who want to make a real impact in education. A background in supporting young people with additional needs is beneficial, but a calm, patient, and empathetic approach is essential.
