Matlock is a busy, well-equipped and well-maintained practice who see a varied small animal caseload. The team currently consists of a practice manager, one vet, a head nurse, a student nurse, two patient care assistants and a client care assistant. The county town of Derbyshire, Matlock is a charming blend of quaint cottages, elegant Georgian buildings and Victorian structures that show its rich history. The A6 runs through the heart of the town providing links to Derby in the South and Bakewell in the North while the railway station, part of the Derwent Valley line, connects the town to Derby.
This is a permanent, full-time role working 40 hours a week over four days with 1:3 half or 1:6 full weekends. Part-time applications are welcome and we're open to being flexible where we can so let us know what works for you.

Role Accountabilities:

In this role you will:
1. Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
2. Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
3. Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
4. Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
5. Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
6. Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
7. Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.
Your Skills and Experience:
1. RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
2. Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
3. Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
4. Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
5. Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
6. Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
7. Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
