We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to join our supported housing service in Cardiff on a Full-time, permanent basis. Janner House provides support to 20 male individuals who have an offending history.
As a Scheme Support Officer You will assist the Project Workers in delivering support to those accessing our service who are working toward realistic goals around independent living, confidence-building, training and employment opportunities and their overall health and wellbeing. The aim of our service is to provide a helping hand to those who have previous criminal offenses and are working toward a fresh introduction into society.
Your day will consist of:

Our aim is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role, and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse and anti-social and offending behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental.
Who we are looking for:
Car owner with current driving licence – desirable
Ability to work with and build rapport with vulnerable and disadvantaged people and to provide support and advice appropriately
Ability to work well within a team
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage own workload with minimal supervision
Relevant experience or transferable skills
Demonstrate the right attitudes in line with Pobl values
IT Literate
Ability to deal with challenging and emergency situations
Good communication skills
To be a great Scheme Support Officer, you don’t always need previous experience or qualifications. Awareness of issues faced by people at risk of homelessness would be extremely useful in the role.

What are the pay and benefits?
Full-Time (37hrs), permanent
The salary for this position is £23,376.60 + £51.11 for sleep-ins.
You will work on a 6 week rolling rota which would involve: Days and 1 sleep-in 8 days(additional payment of £51.11 for each sleep-in shift)
26 days holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays (Pro Rata)
