The Head of Business Intelligence will have responsibility for developing the UK's Business Intelligence capability by implementing the strategy for business intelligence, guiding the data architecture, building data quality processes to enable a single version of the truth, and building the capability to use business intelligence to make better decisions.
Key accountabilities
* Supporting the development and implementation of the strategy for the use of business intelligence in the UK, working closely with senior management to identify key business questions and develop data-driven solutions to support decision-making.
* Guiding the architecture of the business intelligence solution with the goals of democratizing the data and future-proofing it for an ever-increasing variety of data sources and data requests.
* Building the data quality process to enable a single version of the truth, enabling the business to make informed decisions based on accurate and reliable data.
* Guiding the use of data within the business, through coaching and mentoring data analysts, building dashboards and other analytical tools to make the data easily accessible throughout the business, and ensuring the reports make it easy to make good decisions.
* Working closely with senior management to deliver tangible improvements in profitability and to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
* Ensuring the UK approach is consistent with the global approach adopted by Heidelberg Materials.

* Direct reports - 4
* Indirect reports - up to 20 analysts throughout the business
* Global reach - primarily focused on UK, but with input into the global strategy for business intelligence
* Turnover for area of responsibility - £1.5bn
Education/Qualification
* Bachelor's degree in a related field is desirable but not required.
