Position Summary
Microprecision, part of the global $7.1 billion publicly listed Regal Rexnord Corporation, is a class leading supplier and highly trusted brand within the aerospace industry. Manufacturing precision gear splined and threaded components for our clients including Rolls Royce, Eaton, Collins Aerospace, Safran Power Systems, Meggitt and many more. With testing facilities, plus high-precision assembly services for small aerospace assemblies and core packs used in the windings of aircraft generators. You will be part of a great team, working within a modern and clean environment, producing high precision parts and components for the Aerospace industry. The nature of the work is small to medium batch with medium to high complexity.
To support both the Gears and Corepack manufacturing divisions by providing Inspection (Quality) related support to associates and our customers. Support all areas of the business to ensure conforming product is achieved throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
* First off and Final Inspection.
* In-process Inspection.
* First Article Inspection Reports (IAW AS9102 requirements)
* CMM Inspection.
* Inspection related post-delivery support.
* Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (CA) to completion.
* Promote quality awareness throughout the organisation by coaching.
* To lead and participate in regular Quality Clinic investigations.
* Contribute to internal and external audits as required.
* To represent the Inspection Department during Daily Management meetings.
* To assist in New Product Introduction reviews (NPI).
* Monitor and analysis of manufacturing performance through Statistical Process Control (SPC).
* Flexibility to travel within the UK when required.
Experience/Skills
* Able to accept responsibility day to day with minimal supervision. (Key)
* Experience of First article inspection in line with AS9102 requirements
* Experience of PFMEA and PPAP. (Desirable).
* Analytical skills and methodical approach to problem resolution and investigation.
* Experience of Aerospace and/or precision manufacturing industry.
* Good knowledge of associated measuring equipment including CMM inspection.
* Experience of working to Quality Standards AS9100 and ISO 9001. (Advantageous)
* At least 2 or more years Inspection experience preferably in Aerospace. (Desirable)
* Statistical Process Control experience (Desirable).
* Experience of Internal auditing to AS9100 & ISO9001 (Advantageous)
* Experience of working in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Experience of AS9100 and ISO 9001 (Advantageous).
* Good communication skills.
