Entry-Level Assistant Golf Professional / Golf Shop Manager
Meadow Brook Golf Club, a private 9-hole golf club in Reading, MA, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic entry-level Assistant Golf Professional / Golf Shop Manager to join our team. This position is ideal for an individual looking to start or advance their career in the golf industry while taking on managerial duties within our golf shop. The Assistant Golf Professional will work closely with the Head Golf Professional (Kevin Franey) and other senior assistants and staff to ensure the smooth operation of the golf course and golf shop, with a strong focus on member relations, customer service, and daily operations. This is a seasonal position with some flexibility, generally from April 15th through September.
Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 Per Hour
Total Anticipated Compensation Up To: $24.00

Experience Required
* Previous experience in a golf shop or golf-related role is preferred, but not required.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for customer service.
* Experience with retail operations, including point-of-sale systems and inventory management is preferred, but not required.
* Golf knowledge and playing ability with an understanding of the game’s rules and etiquette.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Ability to multitask and handle multiple responsibilities in a professional manner.
* Professional demeanor, appearance, and attitude.
Essential Responsibilities
Golf Shop Management
* Greet and assist members with golf equipment, apparel, and other retail products, maintaining a professional and customer-oriented environment.
* Manage tee time reservations, check-in procedures, and starting groups on the first tee, ensuring an organized and efficient flow of play.
* Handle cash register transactions, billing, and member account inquiries.
* Assist with purchasing and restocking golf shop inventory, ensuring proper product assortment and seasonal changes.
* Assist in maintaining shop cleanliness and presentation to meet club standards.
Customer Service & Member Relations
* Provide exceptional customer service to members, guests, and visitors, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with club members, addressing their needs and inquiries in a professional manner.
* Assist in managing and growing club programs, including junior golf, women’s leagues, and men's weekly games.
Administrative & Operational Support
* Assist the Head Golf Professional with daily operations, tournament organization, and event planning.
* Maintain accurate records for lesson bookings, inventory management, and member golf activities.
* Ensure compliance with all club policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Golf Instruction & Player Development
* Assist in providing high-quality golf lessons to members of all skill levels, under the guidance of the Head Golf Professional.
* Conduct group clinics, junior golf programs, and other golf-related events as needed (based on experience/interest).
