The role ensures clinical governance, facilitates repeat prescriptions for patients who are not eligible for shared care, resolves prescription backlogs, and supports patient satisfaction by ensuring all prescriptions meet legal and clinical requirements in a timely manner.

Reports To: Team Manager / Pharmacy Lead
Hours: 24 a week minimum - 40 Hours per week, flexibility of hours available but with a regular schedule of work hours.
Job Summary:
The Repeat Prescriber represents an extension of the ADHD 360 clinical team. The role ensures clinical governance, facilitates repeat prescriptions for patients who are not eligible for shared care, resolves prescription backlogs, and supports patient satisfaction by ensuring all prescriptions meet legal and clinical requirements in a timely manner.
Role Purpose:
The role contributes directly to the efficiency of ADHD 360's service delivery and patient experience. The Repeat Prescriber ensures a seamless process from clinician consultation to the patient receiving their prescription once medication has been optimised. This role was developed to ensure patients can access their treatment when GPs do not agree to fulfil shared care within primary care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prescription Management:
Monitor and maintain the "No Shared Care Prescriptions" section on the ADHD 360 system, ensuring timely resolution.
Write prescriptions to meet legal and clinical requirements.
Ensure that prescriptions are written within the recommended time frame for those patients refused Shared Care.
Patient and System Support:
Review prescriptions marked as refused shared care.
Check that up-to-date observations are submitted to the patient portal, knowledge required to review observations are within normal parameters in both children and adults.
Complete prescriptions according to patient treatment plan.
Clinical decision making in relation to treatment or prescribing decisions is not part of this role.
Coordination with Teams:
Liaison may be required between ADHD 360 teams (QA, Secretaries, Prescribers) to ensure prescription accuracy, resolve issues, and fulfil specific patient requests.
Facilitate communication and ensure clarity between all involved departments for smooth prescription processing.
How performance will be measured:
Timely completion of the "Refused Shared Care Prescriptions" tab daily.
All prescriptions actioned and completed within the same day.
Positive contribution to maximising patient satisfaction and service delivery by providing timely solutions.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) / General Pharmaceutical Society (GPC) or relevant healthcare professional body.
Proven experience in clinical prescribing, ideally within mental health, ADHD, or related healthcare settings.
Strong understanding of clinical governance, legal prescription requirements, and safeguarding protocols.
Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to resolve clinical queries and deliver patient-focused care.
Proficient in using clinical systems and digital platforms for patient management.
Experience in ADHD, mental health services, or Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
Previous experience liaising with pharmacies or prescription processing teams.
Familiarity with ADHD 360 systems and processes or similar platforms.
Clinical Expertise: Demonstrates a high level of clinical knowledge and prescribing skills, ensuring compliance with legal and clinical requirements.
Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately identify and resolve errors in prescriptions or patient information while ensuring thorough documentation.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively between multidisciplinary teams, pharmacists, and prescribers.
Problem-Solving: Proactively identifies issues (e.g., rejected prescriptions, system bugs, or delivery errors) and implements timely, effective solutions.
Patient-Focused: Commitment to improving patient satisfaction by facilitating smooth and efficient prescription processing.
Team Collaboration: Works effectively across teams, maintaining clear communication and coordination between ADHD 360 and Chemist4U.
Organisational Skills: Manages workload efficiently, ensuring tasks such as daily monitoring, re-writes, and query resolution are completed promptly.
Adaptability: Demonstrates flexibility in handling urgent requests, safeguarding concerns, or system/process changes.
Professionalism: Upholds high standards of care, confidentiality, and integrity in all patient-related activities.
